1. The build-up structure (4-2-2-2)

  • Use the goalkeeper: we build from the back in a 4-2-2-2 shape, and the goalkeeper is an active player against heavy pressure (0:46).
  • Stagger the midfield: central midfielders never stand on the same line. One drops deeper to form a triangle with the center-backs. Look for the "third man" (1:05).
  • Have a purpose: the aim of the build-up is to attack the final third as quickly as possible (3:34).

2. "Fishing" for the press

  • Bait the opponent: center-backs, wait for the pressure to come before you release the ball (2:11).
